Together We Make Football engages the ever growing female segment of the NFL fans and supporters. The concern over concussions (CTE) has led the NFL to increase educational programs tailored for women/moms. The NFL sees these women as the caretakers of their future players. Players having a 3 year "lifespan" so it is important to have a new crop of kids. Therefore their buy-in to programs is vital to their business.
But despite the evidence that concussions due to tackle football are a cause of CTE in later years, the NFL is conducting clinics solely for women to suggest that this is avoidable with proper technique.
By changing the narrative, from collisions to technique, as the cause of CTE they can put the onus on the family and "the mom" in particular in their rhetoric and programs suggesting, "you need to do a better job at protecting our kids".
